Lean Body Diet Plan

Submitted by Keith on July 13, 2011

Most of the times we are disappointed with the various diet plans we try out. This is because we do not confirm to our body’s style of working. While planning your diet, you need to keep in mind that your body requires the maximum nutrition levels to be healthy. To begin with, you need a mix of essential proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, good fats, vitamins, and fiber to be able to lose weight. The solution to losing weight is therefore not starvation; rather, you need to stock up on healthy nutrients and avoid low fat diets.

Such low fat diets only lower your metabolism. The fat remains intact and there is not much weight loss. You therefore have to go in for a lean body diet plan if you want to get into shape.

While following a lean body mass diet plan, you need to make certain changes to your eating habits. Instead of consuming three large meals, move over to four to five smaller meals per day. By doing so, you will not only feel fuller but will be able to satisfy any craving habits you have.

Eating smaller meals will allow your body’s metabolism to digest the food portions quite effectively. Add plenty of vegetables and fruits to your lean body meal plan to make sure that your body gets all the necessary calories.

Following a lean body diet plan for men will not only help them get lean, but also stay lean.

They have to make sure they follow a program that includes foods that they enjoy eating but which they can follow for a long time. A low-carbohydrate diet is a good plan to help men stay lean. By following a low-carbohydrate diet, there can be a significant reduction in the total fat mass, trunk fat mass, and body weight. A low-carbohydrate diet restricts the total intake of carbohydrates to 50 to 150 per day. You could eat non-starch vegetables and lean protein sources and fruits. A lean body diet plan for women could be along the same lines. Going in for a lean shake diet plan is also a simple way to cut out on your calorie intake, while at the same time it helps maintain your satisfaction and energy. However, it is best to consult a dietician before opting for any of the commercial lean body shakes.

Combining a weight training program with your lean muscle diet plan is also a great idea. The weight training program will help you develop lean muscle mass, improve your strength, and give you a well-toned body. The emphasis should be on eating healthy foods instead of supplements or processed foods. To ensure that you get the maximum out of your weight training program make sure you eat your meals at proper times.

Here are some tips you can keep in mind when on a diet for a lean body.

  • Make sure you spend more calories than you consume.  Activities such as vacuuming the carpet and mowing the lawn help burn the calories and create a caloric deficit in your body, causing fat loss.
  • As mentioned earlier, one great way to lose weight is to strength train. Work on your major body muscles such as the hamstrings, quadriceps, chest, back, arms, shoulders, glutes, abdominals and arms.
  • You need to understand that spot reduction is a myth. There needs to be an overall reduction of body fat to be able to see definition in certain parts of your body.
  • Try and introduce cardiovascular training to your routine. Aerobic exercise is a great option to help you burn extra calories and increase your endurance.
  • Keep a regular exercise and food journal to help you track your daily calorie consumption and expenditure.
